Specsavers continues literacy link for 2012 With A New Series of The Television Book Club

LITERACY, eyecare and glasses remain firmly linked this winter, as Specsavers funds a fifth season of the Tv Book Club.

The Tv Book Club returns to More4 on Sunday 29 January. The new series capabilities seven new authors in the ten-robust shortlist, like debut novels from a NHS audiologist who wrote among shifts, a police intelligence analyst, a former womens refuge worker and an investment manager.

Specsavers shops nationwide are supporting the series with a range of activities, including distribution of a free of charge Tv Book Club Summer Read magazine that features author interviews and summaries of all the books.

Richard Holmes, advertising director at the chain of opticians, says: Many people will discover that the first time they notice a issue with their eye sight is when theyre reading, so were delighted to be supporting the Tv Book Club once more this year and helping to promote literacy. There are some terrific titles in the new series and properly be encouraging our clients to start off their personal book clubs, to study along with the show.

The ten-component series functions a celebrity panel that consists of Meera Syal, Dave Spikey and Laila Rouass, coming together to critique a new title every single week. Viewers are invited to interact with the show, reading along and sending in their own reviews.

The new titles have been carefully chosen by a panel headed by Amanda Ross, managing director of Cactus Television.

Amanda says: All the titles on this years list will scream dont put me down at the reader. Although all my alternatives are, as always extremely various in style and content, their common factor is that they are all genuinely fantastic reads and the viewers will be torn when the time comes for them to vote for their favourite to win the accolade Greatest Read at the finish of the series.
